COMPETITION DAY

1 Open the program and click on the Open File icon in the top toolbar(Yellow Folder)
2 Select the file on which you wish to work by clicking on it.
3 Click on the arrow by the Events box and arrow down to the event you require and click on it to highlight it.
4 Click on the arrow on the top right hand box to select which Dance you wish to work on and click on it to highlight it.
5 Use exactly the same procedure on the Judges box to select which judge to work on.
6 Click on the Recall numbers box (or the positions box in the final) and type in the marks required. When you have finished the first judge type in the code letter for that judge and the number of couples that the judge has recalled or any errors* (such as duplicated numbers*, number not entered* etc.) will appear. Make any amendments* and then type in the judge's code letter again

* See Common Problems page.
7 Type in the next judge's code letter and repeat the above process. Then continue through the judges and to the next dance in the same way

NB DANCES AND JUDGES CAN BE INPUT RANDOMLY SO IF A JUDGE'S CARD IS MISSING IT CAN BE INPUT LATER

AS SOON AS THE NEXT LETTER IS TYPED, ALL DATA INPUT UP TO THAT POINT IS SAVED AUTOMATICALLY
8 When all the marks for that round have been input, click on Calculate. If a decision needs to be made about the exact number to be recalled, then click on the Option decided and then on Calculate again. Check that the number of heats is satisfactory or click on the box and amend accordingly

Then proceed by clicking Details which will allow you to view the marking sheet.

It is normally an advantage to click on Print at this stage to have a copy of the marks. (It is automatically set to Portrait but by clicking on the Landscape option you may have the printouts in this format if preferred. This is particularly useful when using larger number of judges/dances).

To leave the Details window just click on the X in the top right hand corner of the window and this will take you back to the working window

If you are happy with the recall click on Accept and the recall sheet will then be printed out for the compere.
9 If, after viewing the marking details, it is decided to adjust the options decision on the number to be recalled, exit the event before clicking on Accept. Scroll back to the same event from the Events box, select it, go to calculate, enter the option decided on and then click continue.
10 On completion of a round click on Exit to take you back to the event selection
11 If you are using the Single Dance Compilation individual recalls and scrutineering sheets will be produced. At the end of the last dance in the final round click on the SDC box and the final summary and overall result will then be calculated
12 IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL TO PRINTOUT THE MARKING SHEETS AT THE TIME OF COMPLETING A ROUND

By clicking on that event at a later time you will see that an arrowhead is shown at the top left hand side of the window, which will take you back through all of the rounds of that event. You can then select the Details option and printout the necessary sheets at any time
13 Always exit the Scrutelle program entirely before opening a different file to prevent information being erroneously transferred from one file to another
