INSTALLING TCP

The TCP pages are displayed via a webserver running on the scrutelle computer within a local Wi-Fi network
(no internet connection is required for this). These pages are controlled by an admin program tcp.exe running on the webserver

scrutelle uses the Apache webserver which you can install using the following steps:

(1) Download the Apache folder from here

(2) Configure Apache by modifying the file C:\Apache24\conf\httpd.conf
You should do this using notepad as Administrator to alter the server_port (default 192.168.0.3:80) in Line 1 in httpd.conf

(3) To find the required IP address run scrutelle and click on SETTINGS (see below)

(4) Click on the help button for Tablet IP Addr

(5) Click on the button Find IP Addr
and copy this IP Address into line 1 in httpd.conf (adding the :80 at the end)

(6) Finally (as Administrator), run C:\Apache24\apache-install.bat

IP addresses should be used. Windows resolves names via the network neigborhood (Samba). This is not supported on tablets and smartphones

This is a useful reference about DNS servers: www.howstuffworks.com/dns.htm

STOPPING AND STARTING THE APACHE SERVER

You will probably only want to run the Apache server on competition day. There are 2 BAT files which can be used
C:\Apache24\apache-start.bat
C:\Apache24\apache-stop.bat

These scripts need to be run as Administrator
